Birthdays

Once again we got together to do family birthday parties for the kids.  We had the party at Ama's house this year the day before Ian's birthday, which was the weekend after being together with the Aston Family for Uncle Stephen and Aunt Kendra's wedding.  Lots of fun, as usual.

We had planned to have Anya's birthday party at Jumpin' n' Jivin' only to discover that it was no longer in business.  :(  Instead we put together an "Under the Sea" themed party and invited friends over to our house.  I think they had just as much fun -- they are getting to be a wild and rowdy bunch.  I'm glad she has such good friends close by.

A New Addition

Uncle Stephen got married this summer and we are all thrilled.  Nobody more than Anya, however.  She is the head of the Kendra Whitmore Aston fan club.  Kendra is fantastic and we're so glad she's in our family.  Anya took to her immediately -- so much, in fact, that she felt she must dominate all of Kendra's time.  The day of the wedding, Anya was in a bit of a mood.  The next day when I asked her about it, she thought for a minute and then admitted, "I guess I felt bad because Kendra wasn't paying enough attention to me."  Quite insightful introspection for such a young child.  Poor girl.  Just look at all the pictures of the neglect she suffered… :)
